Hi! I'm Molly, and I'm an acrylic painter and digital artist based in Belfast NI.
I host bespoke painting parties and themed painting workshops for adults and children of all artistic abilities! ​Available for hen parties, baby showers, birthdays, corporate events and more!

I sell my paintings and prints on Etsy (find link in 'my work') and at local markets (see social media), I also offer commissioned work as well as live painting services for events and weddings.

My goal is to provide a unique experience for individuals of all ages and stages to explore their artistic potential in a fun and pressure free way!

I can facilitate workshops and parties for 6-10 people, either in your home or a venue of your/my choosing, whatever works best for your event!

Parties can be personalised and themed, and I encourage all creative input from clients. I love collaborating to make your vision come to life and to make your experience a bespoke event.
I am based in Newtownabbey but can travel across NI to host parties for an additional fee. Public workshops will be ticketed events and will be available to book online. Private workshops and parties must be booked via email and a deposit must be paid to secure booking.

Workshops
Public
Public workshops will be held in venues across NI for groups of 6-10 people and will be ticketed events booked online. These will be themed workshops under the guidance of Molly and will be 2.5 hours for adults and 1.5 hours for children (age 4+). Tickets for public events will be made available online via this website.

Private
Private workshops can be held at a suitable a venue of your choice (in NI), including your home. I can facilitate up to 10 painters and can tailor the entire experience to your needs and theme. Private workshops will last 2.5 hours and will include personalised touches. All private workshops and parties must be booked via email and a deposit must be paid to secure booking.

Workshop Packages
Painting Pals
Book Painting Pals for private birthday parties, corporate events and more! This package is suitable for children and adults of all painting abilities. Workshops can last between 1.5 - 2.5 hours and 6-10 painters can be hosted. Canvas themes can be customised to any and all events (e.g. Safari Themed, Unicorn Themed, Local Landscapes, Self Portrait, Paint Your Pet etc). All set up and takedown provided, as well as artistic guidance - no mess, no stress.
Brushes & Bumps
Brushes and Bumps is our bespoke Baby Shower package. A wholesome, relaxing activity to be enjoyed by Mum-to-be and her nearest and dearest. 6-10 painters can join in a 2.5 hour workshop customised to whatever best suits your shower theme (e.g. Blue or Pink, Mum to Bee, Here Comes the Son, Baby in Bloom etc). Gender Reveal parties also welcome, details to be established with organiser. Nosecco included for artists as well as personalised details for all to enjoy. All set up and takedown provided, as well as artistic guidance - no mess, no stress.
Brushes & Bells
Brushes and Bells is our bespoke Hen Party package. I can host 6-10 hens including the Bride for 2.5 hours and can customise the canvas theme to whatever best suits the event (e.g. Eras of the Bride, Paint the Groom, Her Last Rodeo etc) . Bottles of Prosecco/Nosecco are included in this package, as well as personalised details for each painter to enjoy. All set up and takedown provided, as well as artistic guidance - no mess, no stress.
Mummy and Me
Join us for a custom themed baby wearing session where mums get a creative outlet without needing to sort out childcare. Mummy and Me painting workshops are designed to allow mums some time to get creative whilst also bonding with their babies. Beautiful baby wraps provided by locally ran business Sustainabub will be provided for all participating mums and babies weighing between 7lbs - 30lbs. Wraps are made from a blend of 70% Bamboo and 30% organic cotton and woven in GOTS-certified factory. 1.5 hour sessions can be set up in your home or chosen venue, with chosen canvas theme and up to 4 mums and babies can be hosted. All set up and takedown provided, no mess, no stress.
About Me
Hi I'm Molly, an acrylic painter and digital artist from Belfast NI.

My background is in the arts and I have a Bachelors Degree in Theatre Studies, as well as one year studying creative and performing arts. Creativity has always been a core part of who I am but I started painting as a hobby in 2018 after suffering a spinal injury that left me with significant mobility issues. While navigating my new normal on crutches, walking sticks and sometimes even wheelchairs, I found that painting was a real form of therapy for me, and something that helped maintain my creativity when I had lost so much of my independence.
I started off doing abstract work and fluid pieces and then moved into some impressionist styles over the years . I was very fortunate to receive amazing support for my work and sold several pieces to individual buyers and local businesses here in NI. I began doing commissioned paintings in an impressionist style and sold several custom canvases over the years.

After having my daughter in 2019 I took a break from painting and started illustrating digitally. This was a much more manageable way for be to be creative with a newborn, and I was able to continue with my sales this way doing commissioned and personalised prints and doing local markets. I continued with this and started up painting again for a couple of years before taking another break after having my son in 2022.

After spending three years focussing on my family and home life, my art had taken a back seat. During this time I found myself constantly wracking my brain for ways to get creative that don't require disruption in the family routine and lifestyle. I found myself thinking I would love to go to a one off art class, just to get out and get creative (without mess and disruption). This is a lovely thought, but of course committing both my time and money to a rolling art class isn't always possible as a mum, or in fact as anyone with a budget and a busy schedule.
Fast forward to 2025, I decided to rebrand and relaunch Molly Ellan Arts, with the added service of one off themed workshops and parties for both adults and kids, to help people discover and embrace their creativity in a fun, affordable, pressure and mess free way.

My art is my passion, and having the time and space to create is a privilege I will never not be grateful for. I hope to cultivate an environment where people of all ages and abilities can engage in an enjoyable, wholesome activity together and maybe even help people unlock their creative potential long the way.
